What are micro-invasive treatments available for my testicular pain?
Treatment options depend on the cause of the pain. In the case of acute pain from a twisting of the testicle, we can surgically untwist it using a single small incision in the scrotum (detorsion). If the cause is because of fluid collection around the testicle, we can use a similar incision to open and remove the sac that is causing the fluid formation (hydrocelectomy or spermatocelectomy). If the pain is caused by large veins in the scrotum (varicocele) or nerve pain, microscopic varicocelectomy or cord denervation can be performed using a small 1cm incision. Finally, if the pain is caused by backing up of sperm because of a clogged vas deferns, sometimes because of a prior vasectomy, a vasectomy reversal is an option and can also be done micro-surgically using a small 1cm incision.
