Mackenzie Helland is a physician assistant working alongside Dr. Neal Patel in the Johns Creek and Cumming clinics. Mackenzie was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest before moving south to attend Arizona State University where she earned her bachelors degree in biological sciences. Between her undergraduate program and starting PA school, Mackenzie worked as a medical scribe where she gained significant clinical experience working across several specialities over a few years. She then went on to obtain her masters degree in physician assistant studies through Nova Southeastern University in Florida where she graduated with honors.
After graduating, Mackenzie moved to Atlanta where she started her career in the field of urgent care until she decided to pursue her interest in urology. Mackenzie is driven by her passion to connect with people and to help them get back to doing the things they love.
Outside of work, Mackenzie enjoys being outdoors as much as possible whether that is hiking, walking the Beltline or going to the dog park. On rainy days she finds herself playing indoor volleyball or shamelessly watching reality TV.
