Ian Thomas is a native from Macon, Georgia. After graduating high school, he attended Georgia College and State University. It was there that he discovered his passion for medicine. Ian had the unique opportunity to help serve underprivileged families in Belize as a part of a Medical study abroad trip. It was there he met a Physician Assistant and knew that he wanted to pursue medicine. He graduated from GCSU with a degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Biology in 2014. After graduating, he obtained his Advanced Emergency Medical Technician license and served in the Cobb county area as well as Emory University Midtown’s Emergency Department for two years.
He obtained his Master degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He moved back to Atlanta after graduating to live close to his family. He chose to pursue urology after interning with a urologist and seeing the impact they had on patient’s lives. Ian enjoys building close and long-lasting relationships with patients. He understands that urological issues can be sensitive to talk about and the burden they place on patient’s everyday lives. He takes pride in being able to help fix patient’s problems and help them return to their normal routines.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys hiking and traveling with his wife. He is an avid reader, soccer fan and loves to attend Braves and Atlanta United games with his friends and family. He is excited to work with Dr. Nordsiek and the whole Advanced Urology team.
