Dr. Mukesh Patel

Biography

Dr. Mukesh Patel has lived with his family in metro Atlanta for over 25 years. While practicing urology full time in Gwinnett County, he has been a pioneer in organizing community health fairs and promoting a healthy lifestyle for all.

Raised in a family of physicians, Dr. Patel practices the holistic lifestyle that he advocates through the talks and presentations he gives at various civic groups and organizations. He is an active member of the medical staff at the Eastside Medical Center in Snellville and the Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville; and he volunteers his services at these facilities by participating on several committees and in community health screening events.

From 2000 to 2010, Dr. Patel served as the Chairman of the Board of Gujarati Samaj, the largest non-profit Indian cultural organization in Atlanta, which has a membership of almost 1,000 families. This organization now has a well-established community center in Gwinnett County. It offers programs for children, youth groups, adults and senior citizens, as well as educational scholarships for college-bound students.

Today, Dr. Patel serves as an active member of the American Urological Association and the Medical Association of Georgia. He is also a Board member of the Indian American Urological Association and the Baroda Medical College Alumni Association. In addition to providing medical educational opportunities, these volunteer organizations facilitate free health care for poor and needy members of the community.

Dr. Patel holds a graduate degree in medicine and surgery and a Master’s degree in general surgery from M.S. University in Baroda, India. Since completing an additional six years of training in urology at The State University of New York, he has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology.

An avid ALTA level “A” tennis player, he enjoys photography, table tennis, badminton and traveling around the world trying to learn the customs and cultures of many civilizations.
