Amanda Swickard was born and raised in central Ohio. She went to Northridge High School in Johnstown, Ohio where she graduated as valedictorian. She accepted a scholarship to play women’s basketball at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio where she was a captain and graduated Magna Cum Laude. There she received her bachelor degree in Biology, with a focus on pre-medicine. Amanda then attended Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio for graduate school and obtained her Masters in Physician Assistant studies. She graduated with honors and was inducted into the physician assistant honor society, Pi Alpha. After graduating Amanda moved to South Carolina for a position in Trauma Surgery and Critical Care for two years.
She began pursuing a career in General Urology and Urologic Surgery in 2017. Amanda sees patients with any ailments from OAB and BPH to prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer.
Along with practicing medicine, research is something she is very passionate about and she has been published in both The American Surgeon Journal and JAAPA. She also received the opportunity to present at the Southeastern Surgical Conference in 2017.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys traveling, spending time with husband, family and friends, working out, and loving on her bernedoodle, Mila.
